Architect

Adam has a degree in Architecture from UNC Charlotte and 26 years experience in the industry. Adam’s extensive experience includes new custom home designs as well as custom renovations and the addition of which he has been part of many award-winning firms in Charlotte throughout his career.

Wes Berry

Accounting

With a firm knowledge of finance and business practices, Wes manages the accounting division of American Italian Construction with ease. A recent graduate of Rowan College, he brings a fresh perspective and friendly approach to customer service, receivables and invoicing responsibilities.

Broker/Realtor/Property Manager

As an accomplished, award-winning Realtor, with over 17 years of experience, Apryl Berry brings her extensive knowledge of the highly competitive Charlotte area real estate market to her position of Acquisition and Sales to American Italian Construction. Uniquely attuned to the resale market, Apryl understands that the best approach in remodeling is to achieve optimal sales value through carefully selected architectural changes and interior choices.

Her extracurricular interests in Real Estate also include volunteer participation with the Homebuilders Association of Charlotte/Parade of Homes, Habitat for Humanity as well as serving as an advisor for the Real Estate Program at Rowan Cabarrus College.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Mingle School of Real Estate and Superior School of Real Estate affords her clients outstanding excellence unsurpassed in the industry.

Emily Malcolm

Interior Designer

A Raleigh, North Carolina native, Emily studied and graduated from the CIDA accredited Interior Design school at East Carolina University. She later moved to the Washington, D.C. metro area and worked as a senior designer for a large design firm in Baltimore, MD for five years.  Her husband brought her back to North Carolina where she later became a lead designer for a local design firm, Carolina Design Associates, for over six years.  Since establishing Malcolm House in 2017 she has continued to create beautiful and functional spaces for her clients to call home.

Mallory Layne

Historic Preservation and Interior Design

The principle of Layne Interiors, Mallory specializes in historic architectural restoration and design. Bringing her passion for the art of historic preservation to American Italian Construction has been a key component in assisting clients who wish to restore older structures to their original glory.

With a solid background in Art History, Furniture and Architecture Restoration and an AAS Degree of Interior Design, Mallory offers a unique perspective into the decorating and construction practices of the past. Her abilities in working exclusively with antique furnishings further enable her to assist our construction teams “on-site” with various aspects of removing and preserving wood moldings, mantles, ironwork and more.

In her spare time, she can most often be found prowling through some of Charlotte’s amazing historic homes, commercial buildings, and antique venues.
